At the time of writing this, I am sitting on a balcony in Split Croatia overlooking the ocean. My daughter and I flew out the day before any notices were posted and any sort of issues arose. Now it seems like the apocalypse has happened back home.
We are looking at flights to head back and while doing that I wanted to take the time to discuss some things you should be doing if you are in the process of buying or selling your home.
While I have been away I have been following the market closely. Homes are still selling over asking and there have been a lot of offers on properties in high demand areas.
If you do have to put your home on the market in the near future, here are a few rules that will help.
First, your realtor should post notes that any and all persons entering the home for showings must wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water for 20 seconds before walking through the home.
As an added layer of precaution leave a bottle or two of hand sanitizer out for visitors to use.
During open houses should you choose to have them, have your realtor limit people coming into the home to 1 family at a time. Social distancing is important during this time.
Your realtor will be better able to make sure prospective buyers are properly attended to and that they practice proper hygiene.
If you can wait to put your home on the market until the end of April I suggest that is the best case scenario.
If you already bought a new home and need to get yours on the market quickly, I suggest following those few tips above to help ensure you and your family are safe.
